I had to opt out of July’s KnitCrate because we were moving to the East Coast and honestly, we did not have a house until we were halfway here. So, I was very excited to receive August’s.
This month’s Membership Crate came with the pattern booklet, 2 stickers (which my 4-year-old promptly stole) and 2 skeins of Knitologie Worsted Merino in the European Robin colorway. The skeins are 218 yards each and I will most likely knit the pattern that was designed using this yarn. The pattern is Eklutna Lakeside Shawl by Mary Dickerson and is knit on a size US 10 needle. I don’t remember the last time I have used a size 10 and am looking forward to seeing how this knits up.
The Sock Crate came with 1 skein of Knitologie Incline Sock, which has 439 yards, in the colorway Pygmy Tyrant. The surprise this month is 2 samples of Happy Hands hand cream.
The sock pattern written for this yarn is Plumage Socks and I really like this one also, so I’ll be making these for sure.
