So, back in October, I signed up for Knit Picks Influencer Program. It looked like something fun and I am a massive Knit Picks fan/user, and have been since I started knitting. I didn’t hear anything back, so I just kinda put it out of my head. Thought maybe I needed to up my knitting game or something and I would try again in a few months.

I got my acceptance email 2 weeks ago and I was shocked! Living in Vegas and my husband working in the hospitality industry for 30 years, things have not been fabulous, so that email has been the best part of my year so far! I was told to choose yarn for a project and they would send it to me, so I did. I’m doing Stephen West’s ‘Slipstravaganza’ and am using their

‘Woodstock’. The description says, “Woodstock will remind you of a peacock on display: bright leaf green is contrasted by magenta and violet, with a hint of blue and just a touch of copper.” It really is a pretty color and I have 3 skeins of it for the shawl. Next up is:

Sweet Home‘. The description for this one says, “Sweet Home is everything you love about flowers; shades of lilac, lavender and iris are brightened by pops of magenta, and darker shades of violet bring overall depth. Similar to Ashland, Sweet Home is decidedly pink…”. It is a very girly color, in fact, my 6-year-old unicorn addict LOVES it and wants me to knit her something out of this yarn. The next color I got was:

Springfield‘. The color description for this one is, “Shades of seafoam green deepen to ocean teal, accented by palest clover. Scattered tones of warm gold accent Springfield’s cool greens.” The website is saying that this colorway is ‘low stock’ so if you love it, I would grab it before it’s all gone! The last color is:

Silverton‘. The description for this one is, “A Victorian shade of dusty plum permeates this subtle blend of silver and tan, creating a refined and ethereal complement to the darker Rockaway.” I was a little worried, when I was picking these out, that the colors were going to be too similar to the main color and they would end up blending into it, but, honestly, I do not think this will be the case at all.

What I was NOT expecting, were the surprises they threw in for me! My birthday is next week and this year is going to be a weird one and it has really made my week!

First up, were these adorable succulent stitch markers. These are so cute that my daughter has been trying to con me out of them since they got here!

Next up was The All You Knit Is Love project bag. Usually, I’m not a fan of anything with hearts on it. Being born in February, all my birthday parties had a Valentine’s Day theme to them and it got old. But this bag…. First of all, it’s a bag! Who doesn’t LOVE a project bag?!?!?!?!? And second, the hearts resemble knit stitches so it’s just right for me.

The last 2 things in the box I was sent were the Interchangeable Needle Case in ‘Plum’ and the Foursquare Majestic Options Interchangeable Short Needle Set. The needle case has a total of 20 slits (10 slits on each side) for storing needle tips (or hooks) and a zippered pouch for cords, keys and end-stoppers. The needle set I actually got into this afternoon to work the beginning of my project, which is an I-cord. The short shorter cord was perfect for working the I-cord quickly and the tips are square! I’ve never used square tips before – heard of them, but never used them. They were very comfortable and this set will be perfect for knitting hats and sleeves.

My goal is do more with this page. Even if I start doing a vlog here…I’m not that great at writing and I never know how to start or end posts. Videos may be a better thing for me…I dunno. We’ll see.
