Sorry, sorry, I know it’s been a few months since I have posted. 2020 has not been even a little bit kind – to anyone, really. Because of everything that has happened the past 8 months, I have had what I call a ‘Covid Budget’ which means there has been close to zero yarn being bought and almost everything is being knit out of stash. Everything I have that is new, was bought no later than July, with a small exception that will be mentioned in a later post. With all that being said, let’s look at the things I have finished and started since World Tour….

First off, I crocheted a Bruce the Friendly Dinosaur for my dinosaur-obsessed, 2-year-old nephew. I go and sit with him for a few hours every Monday night and this was just a quick thing I could make him since I like to spoil him. It took me 3 days of only working on it to get it done and he keeps it in his bed. I used ‘I Love This Yarn’ from Hobby Lobby in ‘Sage’ and ‘Buttercup’.

And since I made the dinosaur for Oliver, I had to make a unicorn for my unicorn-obsessed 6-year-old. I have unicorns coming out of my nose, there are so many. The pattern is called Mimi the Friendly Unicorn and I, again, used I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby in ‘White’, ‘Orchid’, ‘Menthe’, ‘Rosy Cheeks’, ‘Buttercup’, ‘Light Peach’, and ‘Periwinkle’.

Next, I started True by Joji Locatelli. This is actually the 2nd time I have knit this pattern, but there was an unfortunate incident involving scissors with my 1st one. I had seen the orange yarn at Hobby Lobby while I was there one time with my mom and I just could not get the color out of my head. It’s Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek DK in ‘Pumpkin Paradise’ and I thought it would make the perfect fall cardigan. This version I knit, I did not add the pockets. Basically, I was zoned out, watching Netflix and happily knitting away and I completely forgot to add them. It’s fine though, cause I absolutely love it!

After I finished the body of True, I needed a break from all that orange, honestly, and I wanted to do something quick. My mother had bought me 2 skeins of the new yarn Hobby Lobby had rolled out this summer (and caused some chaos with) so I knit up the Neoma’s Shawl. I used Yarn Bee Authentic Hand Dyed Tonal in ‘Natural Slate’ and ‘Plush Blush’. This was, also, a pretty quick project and took me just over a week from start to finish….after which, I gave it to my mom.

After finishing True, I started on Nuallan Cape/Capelet from Entwined: Celtic Cable Collections from Knit Picks. This one is pretty far along, but I’ve had to take a break from it for a short period to work on my kids’ Christmas sweaters. I’m using Yarn Bee Sweet Divinity in ‘Mountain Views’. The entire book by Knit Picks is very beautiful and I highly recommend it.

For the most part, that’s really all I’ve been working on, other than trying to keep it together, just like everyone else. I will post about the Christmas knitting and a test knit I’ve been working on very soon.
