Hot Cider

I’ve been using Knit Picks for years. I can’t even remember how I heard about them/found them. I always have a specific project(s) I’m buying for, so I usually just search the section of the yarn weight I need and go from there. My absolute favorite line they have is Stroll. I love the feel of it and it is really easy to work with.

Two weeks ago, I won a little bit of money off a scratch-off lotto ticket (haven’t played a scratch-off in 14 years). Obviously, when a knitter has any kind of extra money, they buy yarn. I wanted to buy something a little different, so I went to the yarn kit section of their site. I ordered the Hot Cider set, which I immediately cast on as soon as I received it. It’s Stroll Tweed and you get 2 skeins each of Rabbit Heather, Firecracker Heather, and Persimmon. This is going to be a free pattern for this site, which I hope to have posted in September. It’ll be a triangle-shaped shawl using only these 6 skeins that you get in the value pack on a size US 5 needle.

I also ordered the Stormy Skies Value Pack, but it is no longer listed on the site. It consists of Shadow Lace in the colors Oyster Heather, Wonderland Heather, Smoke Heather, Tidepool Heather, and Opal Heather.

Stormy Skies

And then, because I have zero self control and had a bad day last week, I ordered 2 more kits. Night Sky and Posh will be arriving at some point today. They’re all going to be shawls and the only question is what shape and with which stitches?
