We’ve been in our new house in South Carolina for almost 3 weeks now (after moving from Las Vegas) and things are starting to get to the point where it’s calming down…some. It took us 4 days of driving (me with a 4 year-old and a 13 year-old in the car) and we survived.
Before we left Vegas, I had started a shawl design that will be free on this site. Super easy lace pattern with garter stitch and beads. I had run out of yarn, so my order from Knit Picks arrived Tuesday. I’ll be using Hawthorne Speckle Hand Painted in City Lights and it has some beading, which is optional.
While waiting for my order, I started a 2nd shawl. I’ve been wanting a circular shawl for awhile now, and decided to see what I could come up with. This one is 5 colors and knit with Alpaca Cloud Fingering Yarn. It’s going to be a mixture of lace and texture stitch bands and I love it already! The yarn is so, so soft that my 4-year-old comes over to touch it constantly. Hopefully, I will have this one done in the next few weeks so I can get it blocked and really see how it looks.
